This district is situated on Northern part of Coast.
This district lies in between
1820—1910 North latitudes and
8301—8454 East Longitudes. The boundaries of this district are Bay of Bengal in
the East, vijayanagaram district in the South and Orissa state borders in the
West and North directions.

is Srikakulam.
History
: It is said that there were people in this
region evidentially from 4 AD and this is the part and parcel of Kalinga kingdom.
After their reign Chedi, Satavaahana , Salankayana, Golconda kings ruled here.
It was formed in the year 1950 by
getting separated from Visakha
and some
parts of Ganjam district.
